Rita Carmichael BA (Hons) DipION FdSc, MBANT, CNHC
After several years of poor health, nutritional therapy put me back on the road to recovery. I had been fascinated by the powerful effects of food on health for a long time so training as a nutrition practitioner was the next logical step. I qualified in 2006 and love to see how my clients regain their health, energy, happiness and confidence by rediscovering real food bite-by-bite.
My qualifications and professional status: I am a registered nutrition practitioner with a foundation degree and diploma in nutritional therapy from the Institute for Optimum Nutrition. I am registered with the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC), the UK regulator for nutritional therapists, and a member of the British Association for Applied Nutrition and Nutritional Therapy (BANT), the professional association for nutrition practitioners. I continue with regular training updates to keep pace with the fast-moving area of nutrition science.
Having worked in the IT sector before qualifying as a nutrition practitioner, I understand how the demands of corporate life can take their toll on health. I help companies to put together wellness programmes tailored to the needs of staff to enhance their energy, happiness and wellbeing.
For four years, until February 2017, I worked for the Penny Brohn Cancer Care charity as a facilitator delivering the life-enhancing “Living Well with the Impact of Cancer” course for people affected by cancer.
